RFQ questions

Common RFQ questions.

Quick answers for engineers, buyers, and sourcing teams preparing prints, models, inspection requirements, or production details for review.

What should be included with an RFQ?

Helpful details include prints, models, material, quantity, revision level, tolerance requirements, finish needs, inspection requirements, delivery target, and any critical features.

Can drawings and 3D models be sent together?

Yes. A PDF drawing and a 3D model are helpful together when available. The drawing should control tolerances, revision level, finish requirements, and inspection notes.

What if there are multiple files or large files?

For multiple files, ZIP them into one upload when possible. For large files, submit the form first and email the files directly to mhimes@quality-mould.com.

Are customer prints handled confidentially?

Customer drawings, models, project files, and customer-specific designs are used for RFQ review and production support and are handled as confidential project information.

Can inspection requirements be reviewed before quoting?

Yes. Inspection needs can be reviewed during RFQ evaluation, including in-process checks, final inspection, CMM support, First Article Inspection for new production runs, and documentation requirements when specified.

Can repeat production work be supported?

Quality Mould supports repeat industrial work where machining, fabrication, tooling, inspection, revision control, and production planning need to stay coordinated.

Can NDA or special handling requirements be requested?

Yes. If a project requires an NDA, special file handling, controlled distribution, or documentation review before quoting, include that note in the RFQ and Quality Mould will follow up before review proceeds.
